About Wendy

CLP_2158-1818095106-OMY PASSION IS TO INSPIRE PEOPLE TO SEEK OUT GOD
AND TO LIVE OUT THEIR FAITH WITH COURAGE AND COMPASSION.

Welcome. I’m grateful you’ve landed here and hope you’ll be inspired and encouraged by what you read.

But I’m terrible at small-talk, so let’s just skip over all of that and get to the nitty-gritty.

My name is Wendy, and I wish I could shake your hand and see your face and hear your story and tell you how much you are loved by a Great God. The internet seems like a terrible way to meet, but I hope our lives will connect here or through some other venue because it’d be a shame for you to know all about me and I not get the same blessing.

I married my husband, Scott, 18 years ago, and it has been a wild ride. I’m a strong-willed, risk-taking leader, and he just so happened to be a stronger-willed, bigger risk-taker who swept me off of my feet at an FCA gathering during my junior year in college. Now we have two smallish risk-taking adventure-seekers, and we do some crazy things. We are small but mighty, traveling the world together and befriending the least of these in places long forsaken.

That is our little team up there. They’re my favorites. They’re in the middle of all I do and think–my first ministry and best allies. I love their guts out.

I need you to know up front that Jesus is the best thing I’ve ever known. I encountered him as a new mother, and have been doing my best to follow Him ever since. My life will never be the same. I’m a lot of things–a wife, mom, coach, writer, speaker, friend, daughter, sister—but my relationship with Jesus overrides everything else. I love Him like crazy. And it’s hard for me to speak or write or love without Him spilling over. So you just need to know that.

And to be honest, this whole website thing is a little uncomfortable. I’m really not that important. It freaks me out a little to think anyone would put me on a pedestal or think too highly of me. But Jesus said that to whom much is given, much is expected in return, and I’ve been given much, so I’ve got a lot of giving-back to do. That’s why I speak and write and coach: to give others encouragement and inspiration and confidence, and (I hope) a little glimpse of God in the process. My passion is to inspire people to seek God and to live out their faith with courage and compassion. So whether we meet on Facebook  or Twitter  or a conference or event or book signing, I hope my life will point you towards the Living God and the mind-blowing plans He has for your life.

Be blessed,
Wendy

  1. I love your blog Wendy! Also, you should be aware that even in just jeans, a pony tail and flip flops, you are still one of the most beautiful ladies that I know. So deal with that! 😉

  2. Wendy, I just finished reading the last page of Grace In The Middle. Can you hear me applauding? I read this in one sitting. My kid can wait at Dorman until I get there. I cried. I laughed. And then I cried again. Yes, Wendy, I have a limp. The cause of my limp varies from day to day, but Praise God, he’s there, smack dab in the middle of my struggles.

    Keep writing Wendy Duke!
